DragonOSD

Open-Source Operating System

The DragonOSD was conceived as an open-source OSD project that will have every conceivable feature an OSD could ever need. No other OSD manufacturer makes the source code available to the end-user. This makes the DragonOSD the only device of it's kind where you can easily customize the code to your own special needs, if you ever need to do that. The on-board ICSP header allows you to update the firmware (with a suitable programmer) and add new features as they become available too.

Powerful Graphics Engine

We understand that the user wants functionality, but they also want it to be aesthetically presented. The DragonOSD is built upon the BOB-4SG video module and graphics engine that enables us to deliver unsurpassed graphics quality and capability at affordable prices. What this means for you is that you get beautifully rendered on-screen text in multiple font sizes, visible on bright or dark backgrounds, as well as fast high-resolution graphics (such as our smooth-scrolling high-resolution compass reticle and artificial horizon). In fact, we are confident to say that no other OSD in this class has graphics that comes close to what the DragonOSD delivers.

With many other OSD's you will have to choose whether you want a PAL or NTSC model. With the DragonOSD, you can have both - it's as easy as just selecting the mode you want in the on-screen menu and you're done! Add to this the ability to dynamically adjust the safe-zone to maximize screen real-estate and you have possibly the most systems-friendly OSD setup out there. Now you can buy PAL or NTSC with the confidence that both will work with the OSD.

All The Usual Features

With the DragonOSD, you get all the ability to monitor your GPS location, ground-speed, altitude, distance from home, line-of-sight distance, dual battery voltages, current draw, mAh consumed, a host of user adjustable warning levels and a lot more. You also get a high-resolution smoothly scrolling compass reticle with indication of where your launch-point is so that you will never be lost again. In a word, you get every possible parameter you will need for intuitive and effective instrument navigation, allowing you to fly longer distances with confidence. The DragonOSD also comes with a built-in battery backup for your GPS module, allowing super-fast positional acquisition. No more long waits before you get to fly.

Flight Logger

Have you ever wondered where you actually flew your FPV plane? The DragonOSD will actually log your flight path to it's onboard EEPROM memory. You can then download the log to your PC (with the optional USB interface) and view your flight in full-3D through the free GoogleEarth.

High-Tech Options

Ever wished for an artificial horizon like those in modern air-craft HUD's? Wish no more. With the DragonOSD, you get the option to add an IMU module that will add a real-time artificial horizon to your OSD. This will reflect the pitch and roll of the plane, allowing you to fly on instruments alone - be it in the pitch-darkness of night, or the white-outs of in-cloud flying. You can now push your FPV harder without the fear of losing your orientation.

Field Programmable

Unlike other OSD's, the DragonOSD allows you to change every control parameter through an on-screen menu right on-the-spot, at the field, without the need to rely on a PC or notebook. In fact, you can even change the parameters while in mid-flight. You gain on-the-spot responsiveness, without the inconvenience of having to lug extra equipment around, making your FPV setup more portable than ever before.

More than just an OSD

We are not content to just deliver top notch OSD features, so we decided to go one step further to address the greatest concern of FPV pilots - losing your plane. The DragonOSD incorporates a fly-home auto-pilot function that can be automatically or manually triggered. This will cause the OSD computer to fly your plane back to you while, optionally, maintaining a preprogrammed altitude.
